Atheism & Discrimination

I have seen some debates lately on the dicrimination of atheism. My views are, how can someone trust a person that is an atheist? They don’t believe in god, they only believe that they have only one life so they should live it to the fullest and everything that happens in this world is the cause of natural selection and not of grand design. Now how can someone like that think of anything but the betterment of there lives. Why would they think of helping others if they knew nothing would be gain from it. Why would they sacrifice themselves if they new that they would get only 6 feet of dirt in the end. Why have any morals? Example if you were a 50 years old atheist and there was a child of 10 years old beside you and you were both ill with an illness that is killing you both but there was one pill to cure that illness. Why would an atheist give that pill to the child? Since in his mind his life is all that he has and there is nothing after but dirt, dust and oblivion. Why care for that child? For myself I have always believed that there is a purpose to everything we hear, see & experience that is good and bad in the short life we have on this earth. I am also not so arrogant to assume why all that is or should be. We who are very small in an universe that is vast and grand. Why do some in science try to think that they are so large in statue that they think they can understand any of it, especially something like the secret we call life. Like a child that thinks they know more that it’s parent or why the child who does not except the parent that guides them in a direction as they evolve in life thinking they know more.

There is a saying ,if man by the age of 80 has lost his sense of humour he has gained nothing!
